PERSONAL LOG DR. TALI There is a shark that waits outside my shack every morning. A great white. I named him Gary.

The first time I saw him, I thought he was circling the dock to hunt. Then he lifted his head from the water and stared at the fish in my hand. He was begging.

Now Gary waits beside the dock whenever he sees the lights come on. He refuses to leave until I give him breakfast. Usually cod. He dislikes salmon.

After he eats, we swim. Command would probably consider that reckless. They have never met Gary. He follows slowly and never gets too close unless I reach out to him.

He may be a great white, but he is softer than an otter. He rolls beneath my hand and lets me scratch the top of his head. Sometimes I think he visits because he is lonely.

The others have started leaving fish by the dock for him too. Gary has become the only member of this facility everyone agrees on. Even security likes him.

I came to Drakonus B expecting cold water, endless research, and another empty assignment. I did not expect a friend. Tomorrow, I am bringing Gary his favorite cod.
